Alan Charles has been elected as Derbyshire’s first Police and Crime Commissioner.
The former Vice-Chair of Derbyshire Police Authority Alan, who lives in Killamarsh, North Derbyshire, has an in-depth understanding of local policing in Derbyshire, in addition to the issues on the regional and national landscape.
During his election campaign he pledged that as Derbyshire’s Police & Crime Commissioner he said he would:
Give an absolute commitment not to outsource or privatise Police Support Services and to buy UK goods wherever possible
Maintain Community Policing across Derbyshire
Protect vulnerable people, especially victims of Domestic Abuse
