Have Your Say in Belper

Posted on 4th July 2011

BELPER residents will be able to Have their Say on policing on Saturday, 9th July when members of the Police Authority and the Constabulary will join the Farmers Market in the Market Place, Belper, between 8.30am and 2.30pm.

Local people will be given the opportunity to take part in a questionnaire designed to tell the Authority and Force know how confident or satisfied people are with the service they receive, whether they are aware of their Safer Neighbourhood Team, whether they feel the service is providing value for money and what is the most important task for the police in their area.

People will also be asked to prioritise different categories of crime according to what they perceive as the biggest problem in their area, how safe they feel (and why they do or do not feel safe) and questions about the impact of anti-social behaviour.

The results of the questionnaire will help shape future services and prioritise resources to ensure local people’s needs and concerns are being met. The information will also be shared with Community Safety Partnerships to help improve satisfaction levels.

There are around 20 venues planned across the county for this annual event, which has so far been to Hilton, Sinfin, Bakewell, Derby, Swadlincote, New Mills and Staveley. All events to date have been well attended, with people taking the opportunity to have their say, both face to face and via an on-line survey!

Further dates and venues can be found online at www.derbyshire.police.uk/policeauthority| or by telephoning 01773 733771.

Members of the press are more than welcome to attend.
