Have Your Say In Glossop

Posted on 19th August 2011

GLOSSOP residents will be able to Have their Say on policing on Thursday 25th  August when members of Derbyshire Police Authority and the Constabulary will be out and about at Tesco, on Wren Nest Road, between 2.30pm and 8.30pm.

Local people will be given the opportunity to take part in a questionnaire designed to tell the Authority and Force know how confident or satisfied people are with the service they receive, whether they are aware of their Safer Neighbourhood Team, whether they feel the service is providing value for money and what is the most important task for the police in their area.

People will also be asked to prioritise different categories of crime according to what they perceive as the biggest problem in their area, how safe they feel (and why they do or do not feel safe) and questions about the impact of anti-social behaviour.

The results of the questionnaire will help shape future services and prioritise resources to ensure local people’s needs and concerns are being met. The information will also be shared with Community Safety Partnerships to help improve satisfaction levels.

Anyone who cannot get to the event but who would like to have their say can do so online via the electronic survey.

There are around 20 different venues planned across the county for this annual event  and each one to date have been well attended, with people taking the opportunity to have their say, both face to face and via the on-line survey.

Further information can be found online at

or by telephoning 01773 733771.

Members of the press are more than welcome to attend.
